Job Description

Our client is a global leader in power semiconductors technologies. Due to their rapid growth, they are seeking to hire another Failure Analysis Engineer to add to the team. Ideal candidate will come from EE Background and have a few years of Failure Analysis experience in the semiconductor industry.

As a Failure Analysis Engineer, you will be part of the reliability group, performing failure analysis of Company semiconductor products. You will interact with design/marketing/operations to support continuous yield improvements through failure analysis of our products. You will further develop techniques, procedures, and capabilities to enhance the Company’s capabilities in this discipline. You will be the resource person in the Company for hard-to-solve failure analysis issues.

*** This is a Hybrid role, but candidate must be at the company facility at least a few days per week.

Specific Duties Include

  • Root cause analysis of reliability tests or field failures and propose corrective actions.
  • Prepare failure analysis reports for both internal use and external customers.
  • Function as a technical resource for failure analysis questions.
  • Coordinate all the logistics and instructions to direct the failure analysis process.

Required Skills

  • MSc/PhD in materials engineering, physics, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience in failure analysis field (preferably semiconductor).
  • Semiconductor technology and process knowledge (Fab, Assembly, and Packaging).
  • Hands-on experience of FA techniques like Cross sectioning, X-ray, CSAM, FIB, SEM, and TEM is required.
  • Good understanding of transistor functions and basic electronics.
  • Innovative and Creative with troubleshooting techniques.
  • Enjoy hands-on work and working in a lab environment.
  • Good customer and vendor management skills.
  • Ability to work well in cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and pay good attention to details.
